Winter Solstice Log Cabin Quilt

I'm very proud of this example of scrap quilting. I'm blessed in my scraps, that's for sure! This is a sumptuous creation, full of velveteen and linen.

And blues and greens, of all kinds. It's backed in a silvery-blue linen, and hand-quilted using perle cotton in blues and creams.

And it's very heavy!

Do you ever use cotton knit? I have a huge box full from my girls dresses and wondered if they would sew well into quilts. Thank you for sharing all of your beautiful work!!

Beautiful! Very restful colors. Are your quilts washable?

I'm wondering about combining the fabrics--do you use pre-washed scraps? or anticipate a little loving shrinkage?

The colors beautifully reflect the title, "Winter Solstice". :-)
