Tiny Oak Tree

Felix moved his little acorn start into his room and has been caring for it faithfully. His tiny oak sapling has four leaves now.

That's lovely, I picked up 2 acorns when I was expecting my 3rd child, I planted it them in pots and put one out in the garden. Now it is a fine young tree and much taller than any of us...my son is 16 now.The other we grew as a bonsia and it is not thriving quite so well but ok. Hope you have got somewhere to plant yours where you can watch it grow too.

How pretty! We pulled out an tiny maple that started in our strawberries and have it in a pot. It had about 8 leaves and one is still clinging on.
Fun.

That is a great idea that I will have to try!

My younger siblings have an ongoing 'rescue the sprouting acorns' project with the acorns from an oak in our yard. They have two so far that are thriving a year after being 'rescued', one of those hanging on despite being driven over with a Suburban and sat on by a dog.

I see little oak ones all over my yard and in my gardens, and I have always wanted to try to move them to a little pot to transplant them later as they grow. They look so sweet like that, so tiny and all!

What a sweet photo. My husband just bought some itty bitty clay pots for the children. They've been growing various things under our grow lights in the basement that I use for seed starting in February. My daughter even has a date pit that sprouted and we're eager to see what happens.
